Interactions between the plate-tectonic and associated biological processes

This discipline concerns micro-organisms in deep waters (more that 500m), There is a need for understanding the environmental parameters such as temperature, chemical composition, hydrothermal activity, microbe-mineral interactions. This part does not require continuous monitoring in a first step, but we want here to collect data in terms of rock samples, water samples and experimental retrieval. The most relevant area are mid-oceanic ridges (e.g. Mohns and Knipovitch).
